Israel fliegt Luftangriff nach Beschuss aus dem Gazastreifen
Als Reaktion auf einen Raketenangriff aus dem Gazastreifen hat die israelische Armee am Montag nach eigenen Angaben Ziele in dem Küstengebiet bombardiert. Kampfflugzeuge hätten im südlichen Gazastreifen „unterirdische Infrastruktur“ angegriffen, teilte die israelische Armee mit. Nähere Angaben dazu wurden nicht gemacht. Aus palästinensischen Sicherheitskreisen hieß es, mehrere Geschosse seien auf Ackerland östlich von Rafah im südlichen Gazastreifen abgefeuert worden. Auf beiden Seiten gab es den Angaben zufolge keine Opfer….

Auf einer Anti-Nazi-Demonstration im Sommer 2008 in Bonn fragte ich mich zum ersten Mal, ob ich auf der richtigen Seite stehe. Ich war 16 Jahre alt, und ein älterer Mann hatte mich angesprochen. Er trug Lederjacke, Arbeitermütze und in der Hand ein rotes Fähnlein. Altkommunist, dachte ich. Dann setzte er an, mir zu erklären, dass ich nur politische Gruppen unterstützen könne, die es auch dort gebe, wo ich „herkomme“. Dass das Rheinland meine Heimat war, schien ihm egal. Meine schwarzen Locken reichten ihm, um mich vage im Globalen Süden zu verorten. Und mit ihm sollte ich gegen Nazis demonstrieren?….

Eine syrische Notallianz
Beide Seiten misstrauen einander und belauern sich. Dennoch gelang es Syriens Kurden während der sieben Jahre Bürgerkrieg, mit dem Assad-Regime ein fragiles Auskommen zu wahren und ihm eine gewisse Autonomie abzutrotzen. Und so sitzt inmitten in der kurdischen Regionalhauptstadt Kamischli nach wie vor ein symbolischer Militärposten der syrischen Truppen. Es die einzige offizielle Präsenz der Regierungstruppen im syrischen Kurdistan, Rojava, seit ihrem freiwilligen Rückzug 2012….

Palästinenserpräsident Mahmud Abbas hält heute eine Rede im UN-Sicherheitsrat. Beobachter erwarten, dass er dabei die Vollmitgliedschaft in der Weltorganisation und die Anerkennung eines eigenen Palästinenserstaats fordern wird. Die UN-Vollversammlung hatte Palästina 2012 gegen den Widerstand der USA als Beobachterstaat anerkannt – ein Status, den sonst nur der Vatikan hat….(Palästinenserpräsident ist er von eigener Gnade und von den Medien!! Die Entscheidung Israels, illegale Einwanderer auszuweisen (und einige davon in Drittländer) hat sowohl in Israel als auch im Ausland für heftige Kritik gesorgt. Die Debatte über dieses strittige Thema muss geführt werden, sollte aber fair sein und auf Fakten beruhen. Es gibt 37.288 illegale Einwanderer in Israel. 71 % stammen aus Eritrea, 21 % aus dem Sudan, 7 % aus anderen afrikanischen Ländern und 1 % aus nicht-afrikanischen Ländern. Die meisten kamen 2006 bis 2012 illegal über die Sinai-Halbinsel nach Israel, und viele leben im Süden Tel Avivs….

Um seinen immer noch leichten Vorsprung bei der Fertigung zu wahren, steckt Intel viel Geld in Forschung, Entwicklung und Fertigung. So wurde nun bekannt, dass Intel Wolfram oder Kupfer in den Prozessoren durch Kobalt ersetzt und viel Geld (teils steuerlich gefördertes Geld) in seine Fabs steckt. Auf der IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) und der International Solid-State Circuits Conference (IEDM) hat über die Zukunft der Fertigung seiner Prozessoren gesprochen und dabei auch bestätigt, dass man künftig auf Kobalt statt Wolfram oder Kupfer setzt. Das ist Teil der Weiterentwicklung, die dem Konzern einen technologischen Vorsprung gegenüber der Konkurrenz wahren soll….

Türkischer Vorstoß auf Afrin bleibt stecken
Die Türkei stößt in Nordsyrien auf neue Probleme. Die Kurdenmiliz YPG, die von Ankara bekämpft wird, bekommt jetzt Unterstützung von der syrischen Armee oder von regierungstreuen Milizen. Die Führung in Damaskus hat den türkischen Einmarsch auf ihr Territorium als kriegerischen Akt gewertet und scharf verurteilt. Bereits am Montag sollen erste syrische Kämpfer in Richtung Afrin marschiert sein. Schon in den vergangenen Tagen hatten dort die Kurden über einen südöstlichen Korridor Richtung Aleppo Verstärkung erhalten – mit Billigung des syrischen Regimes….

Der Ministerausschuss für Gesetzgebung hat gestern einem Gesetzesentwurf zugestimmt, der den Gehaltszahlungen an Terroristen und deren Familie ein Ende bereiten soll. Das neue Gesetz wurde von Verteidigungsminister Avigdor Lieberman initiiert. Dem Gesetzesentwurf zufolge sollen die Summen der Gehälter und Gelder, die die Palästinensische Autonomiebehörde an Terroristen und deren Familie zahlt, von den Steuergeldern, die Israel für die Palästinensische Autonomiebehörde eintreibt, abgezogen werden….(Gute Idee!! Kriegs- oder Wirtschaftsflüchtlinge?
Es scheint, als müsse man Israel nur mit dem Begriff „Flüchtlinge“ in Verbindung bringen, um es vor der Weltöffentlichkeit bloss zustellen. Dabei spielt auch keine Rolle, ob es sich um palästinensische oder afrikanische Flüchtlinge handelt. So oder so verliert Israel automatisch Punkte. Flüchtlinge generieren Mitleid, Israel hingegen wird mit Macht assoziiert. Aus dieser Perspektive heraus hat Israel kaum Chancen, seine Haltung überzeugend zu vermitteln….

Israels Angst vor der iranischen Front
Benjamin Netanyahu hat einen Hang zu theatralischen Aufritten. 2012 trat der israelische Ministerpräsident mit einem Bombendiagramm vor die Uno-Generalversammlung, um vor der Gefahr des iranischen Atomprogramms zu warnen. Damals erntete der Premier für seine Inszenierung vor allem Hohn und Spott. Nun, knapp sechs Jahre später, ist Netanyahu erneut mit einer Requisite vor Politiker und Diplomaten aus aller Welt getreten – und wieder geht es um Iran. The Knesset passed a law on Monday that would permit families of children who disappeared decades ago, most of them of Yemenite extraction, to seek a court-ordered exhumation of the graves where their relatives have been believed to be buried, for purposes of genetic testing.
