Es ist ein Gedenktag, der mit einer zweiminütigen Sirene das ganze Land zum Stillstand bringt: In Israel soll der Jom HaSchoah alljährlich an Holocaust und Heldentum erinnern, an den Aufstand im Warschauer Ghetto und die Befreiung der deutschen Konzentrationslager durch die Alliierten. Die Israelitische Kultusgemeinde lädt zu ihrer Gedenkstunde am Mittwoch, 1. Mai, in die Synagoge „Ohel Jakob“, Jakobsplatz 18….

Friedensarbeit und Hilfe für Christen in Nahost
„Mit all unseren Aktivitäten im Heiligen Land wollen wir zum Frieden in der Region beitragen und zugleich den Christen helfen, dass sie in ihrer Heimat bleiben können.“ Das hat der Wiltener Abt und Großprior der Grabesritter in Österreich, Raimund Schreier, im Kathpress-Interview in Jerusalem betont. Die Grabesritter unterstützen etwa den Unterhalt von Kirchen, Schulen, Kindergärten, Sozialstationen und Altenheimen in Israel, Jordanien und Palästina. Für bedürftige christliche Familien gibt es finanzielle Soforthilfen. Die Hilfsprojekte werden vor allem über das Lateinische Patriarchat von Jerusalem abgewickelt….
HISBOLLAH-TUNNEL:
Vereinte Nationen bestätigen Grenzverletzung
Ein weiterer Tunnel der Hisbollah, der von Israel entdeckt worden war, verläuft unterirdisch vom Libanon bis nach Israel. Das bestätigten die UNIFIL‐Friedenstruppen der Vereinten Nationen, die im Grenzgebiet stationiert sind. Es ist damit die dritte Grenzverletzung und ein Bruch des Waffenstillstandsabkommens zwischen den beiden Ländern. Israel hatte die libanesische Schiitenmiliz bereits im Januar beschuldigt, diesen »tiefsten, längsten und ausgefeiltesten Tunnel« gegraben zu haben. Er verläuft von der libanesischen Stadt Ramyeh, die 800 Meter von der Grenze entfernt liegt, einige Dutzend Meter bis auf israelisches Gebiet und reicht bis zu 55 Meter tief….
Kommentar: Mehr wird auch nicht passieren!! Im UN-Sicherheitsrat wird ein evtl. Antrag auf Verurteilung mit Sicherheit abgelehnt!! W.D.

Der Schriftsteller Chaim Noll hat am Sonntag an dieser Stelle über die plötzliche Absage einer von der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung veranstalteten Lesung im Leipziger Ariowitsch-Haus berichtet. Da hieß es noch:
„…als ich am Tag nach der Absage in der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung anrief und Fragen nach dem Grund dieser Maßnahme stellte, wurden sie nicht beantwortet. Der Leiter des „Landesbüros Sachsen“, Matthias Eisel, verfiel auf ein Mittel, das ich von DDR-Funktionären kenne: Er hörte auf zu sprechen. Als wollte er zu verstehen geben: Sie werden wohl selbst am besten wissen, womit Sie sich diese Bestrafung zugezogen haben.“….
Kommentar: Wie hiess es noch, na, ah ja: „Die Partei, die Partei hat immer recht!!“ Deshalb ist Kritik von Aussen absolut verboten!! W.D.

Ein dunkler Raum, an die Wand ist in weißer Schrift ein Name projiziert: Menachem Biegelman, gestorben 1943 beim Aufstand im Warschauer Ghetto gegen die Nazis. Es mag Zufall sein, dass genau dieser Name auftaucht, als auch Jeremy Issacharoff den Raum betritt. Der israelische Botschafter in Deutschland hat am Montag mit den Diplomaten der Botschaft das Mahnmal für die ermordeten Juden Europas besucht….

Es geht um die „Ehre“: Die Palästinensische Autonomiebehörde will nur den vollen Betrag der von Israel eingezogenen Steuergelder. Die Israelis wiederum weigern sich, für Mord an Juden zu zahlen – und halten einen Teil des Geldes zurück….
Kommentar: Dank dieser Rente leben die Familien der Terroristen viel besser als die Familien der Angestellten der PA, die im Moment nur 60% ihres regulären Lohnes ausgezahlt erhalten!! Die Mitglieder der PA und die Kader der Fatah erhalten natürlich den vollen Betrag!! W.D.

Verweigert ihren Bürgern Behandlung in Israel
In der letzten Zeit gab es in den sozialen Netzwerken Meldungen anti-israelischer Gruppen, in denen Israel beschuldigt wird, krebskranken Bewohnern aus den Gebieten der Palästinensischen Autonomiebehörde und dem Gazastreifen die Behandlung in Israel zu verweigern. Heute veröffentlichte das Nachrichtenportal Ynet einen Bericht, der den wahren Grund für die Tatsache erklärt, dass in letzter Zeit deutlich weniger Patienten aus den Gebieten der Palästinensischen Autonomiebehörde und dem Gazastreifen in Israel behandelt wurden, was lebensgefährliche Folgen für diese Patienten haben kann….

Für Opposition gegen Trumps „Deal des Jahrhunderts”
Die palästinensische Autonomiebehörde wird in Kürze Delegationen in mehrere Länder entsenden, um Partner für eine Opposition gegen den bevorstehenden Friedensplan der Trump-Administration zu gewinnen. Der 83-jährige Präsident der PA, Mahmoud Abbas, sagte, er habe Zweifel, dass die arabische Welt den Palästinensern bei der Bewältigung ihrer enormen Finanzkrise helfen wird. Nach dieser Enttäuschung wendete sich Abbas an die europäischen Ländern und erstaunlicherweise auch an seinen politischen Gegner, die Hamas….

IDF REDUCES GAZA FISHING ZONE:

The IDF will reduce the fishing zone around the Gaza Strip to six miles on Tuesday following the launch of a missile on Monday night, the military announced. According to IDF Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Ronen Manelis, Palestinian Islamic Jihad was behind the rocket fire from the northern Gaza Strip that went into the sea. “It was intentionally fired by the group,” Manelis said, adding that the PIJ operative behind the launch was Baha’a Abu Ata, the PIJ commander of the northern Strip….

Members of the synagogue were due Monday to bury Lori Gilbert-Kaye, 60, who died in the attack six months to the day after 11 worshipers were killed at a Pittsburgh synagogue in the deadliest attack on American Jewry. Three other Jewish worshipers were wounded Saturday. The alleged gunman, identified by police as John Earnest, is being held without bail….

The Palestinian Authority is facing imminent financial collapse over its refusal on principle to accept any tax revenues from Israel, and its dire call for help to the Arab world is mostly going unheeded. If financial aid is not immediately forthcoming, the whole PA enterprise that has been in place since 1994 is likely to collapse. The issue is the Israeli decision to withhold the sum of money that the PA gives monthly to terrorists in Israeli jails and their family members. The PA feels so strongly about continuing payments to the people it holds to be martyrs on behalf of its cause, that it is willing to risk financial collapse….

WARNS OF NEED TO CONDEMN ANTISEMITISM AT HOLOCAUST EVENT
The Danish Ambassador to Israel Charlotte Slente said on Monday night that rising antisemitism in Europe required politicians and national governments to vigorously condemn the phenomenon, as well as educate against it, at a Holocaust commemoration event in Jerusalem. She said that the risks of antisemitism are seen “everyday” and stated that Europe and Denmark “face new antisemitism,” and recalled the shooting at the Copenhagen Great Synagogue in February 2015 in which a gunman killed a Jewish man doing security duty during a bat mitzvah as an example….

The plenary session of the UN General Assembly will meet for a special session regarding the intensification of antisemitic events around the world, officials at the Israeli Mission in the UN told The Jerusalem Post. Senior members of the United Nations are expected to participate in the event. The initiative was led by Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon, who in recent months began a wide-ranging diplomatic effort in which he enlisted the United States, Canada, and European Union countries in support the Israeli effort. The meeting is expected to take place at the end of May in coordination with the UN Secretary-General and the President of the General Assembly….

A white whale wearing an odd looking harness was spotted near the Norwegian fishing village of Inga last week and is now suspected of being used for Russian espionage, the Guardian reported. The whale swam to the boats and attempted to actively engage the attention of the humans by pulling ropes from the side of the boats. The men found he was wearing a tight harness which might be used to strap-on a camera or weapon, absent in this case. „Property of St. Petersburg” was written….

Having likewise yet to be assigned parking spaces, most parked their personal vehicles, ranging from shiny Land-Rovers to at least one bashed-up 2010 Ford Focus (almost identical to this reporter’s machine, which happened to be parked in the adjacent space), in the visitors’ section of the Knesset’s underground car park….

Body of missing woman found in central Israel:
5 of her relatives arrested
Police on Sunday found the body of a woman who went missing over two weeks ago, and arrested five members of her family as part of the investigation. The body of Najla al-Amuri, 19, was discovered in an open area near the town of Tel Hadid in central Israel. Police arrested two men aged 15 and 23, and three women aged 28, 29 and 49, all residents of the central city of Lod. A gag order was imposed on details of the investigation and the identity of the suspects….
