Verurteilung wegen Kopfschuss:

Bundestagsabgeordnete kritisiert anti-israelische Berichterstattung

When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu runs scared, he runs right. US BILL ON ISRAEL BOYCOTTS SETS UP FREE SPEECH BATTLE

Earlier this month, one of America’s largest civil-liberties organizations announced opposition to a congressional bill that would target international efforts to boycott, divest and sanction Israel, setting up an uncomfortable fight between US-based Israel lobbies and free-speech advocates. The American Civil Liberties Union – a union at the forefront of several battles against the Trump administration over the rights of immigrants, refugees and minority groups facing systemic discrimination – said the bill would make worse a 1970s-era law that had already stymied the ability of individuals and companies to exercise their constitutional right to boycott….

It was originally published online and in the Irish print edition of the weekly paper. “I note that two of the bestpaid women presenters in the BBC – Claudia Winkelman and Vanessa Feltz… are Jewish,” Myers wrote. “Good for them. Netanyahu joins mob that sees Hebron shooter’s judges as traitors who should stand trial

The echoes of the verdict in the Elor Azaria appeal have yet to fade, but the two rivals, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Education Minister Naftali Bennett, breathlessly took to their Facebook pages with a plea for an immediate pardon, as if the convicted defendant was the 2017 version of Alfred Dreyfus. Bennett was at least sensitive enough to pay weak lip service to the legal system (“We must respect the court”) but the premier isn’t interested in such quasi-leftist niceties. “My opinion hasn’t changed since the verdict was handed down in January,” he declared, and said he would give his opinion to the relevant authorities – as if his opinion is at all relevant – when the issue comes up for discussion….(Da hat aber jemand Schnappatmung!! Fate of ancient Canaanites seen in DNA analysis

There is a story in the Hebrew Bible that tells of God’s call for the annihilation of the Canaanites, a people who lived in what are now Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Israel and the Palestinian territories thousands of years ago. “You shall not leave alive anything that breathes,” God said in the passage. “But you shall utterly destroy them.” But a genetic analysis published on Thursday has found that the ancient population survived that divine call for their extinction, and their descendants live in modern Lebanon….(Also hat die BIBEL unrecht?? Church defends its sales of land in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Caesarea

The Greek Orthodox Church has broken its decades-long practice of leasing land to Israelis, and has now sold it, because it can no longer withstand massive pressure from Israeli authorities to hand over its real estate, church insiders claim. The issue hit the headlines recently with revelations of sales by the church to private investors in Jerusalem, Caesarea on the coast, and Jaffa adjacent to Tel Aviv. On Monday, the most senior figures involved in public land management in Israel are set to meet to discuss how to deal with these sales….
