Former Haaretz journalist Yehuda Lahav posthumously receives lifetime achievement award
Yehuda Lahav was bestowed the life achievement award by the district of Prešov posthumously in honor of his work as a journalist and his dedication to the solidifying Israeli-Slovakian ties.
Yehuda Lahav, former Haaretz journalist, posthumously received a lifetime achievement award last week in his birthplace, the city of Prešov in Slovakia. Lahav passed away in July of 2010 at the age of 80.
Lahav, who held a PhD in Eastern European history, was born in Prešov but forced to leave in 1942 when his parents were murdered by Nazis. He moved to Israel where he developed an extensive career in journalism that lasted over 40 years….
