Hard Cheese / The bluff of price controls

Instead of solving the cottage cheese crisis, the ministries are behind the high prices in the first place.

Industry and Trade Minister Shalom Simhon, who until recently was agriculture minister, is promising to solve the crisis over cottage cheese by bringing its price back under government control and by allowing imports. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Importing cottage cheese isn't realistic, and it probably won't happen. Restoring price controls is more realistic, but it won't do anything aside from deceive the public. That's because in practice, it's the Agriculture Ministry that is blocking lower cottage cheese prices….
