ICL to build flame retardant plant using Dow tech

This particular flame retardant is part of the foamy substance used for thermal isolation in construction.

Israel Chemicals will be building a new plant making a flame retardant using technology it's licensing from Dow Chemicals. The U.S. giant has licensed ICL to make FRI22P, a bromine-based polymeric flame retardant that is considered environmentally friendly because it does not degrade.
