Israel cabinet approves NIS 265 million program to fight obesity

Plan aims to lower limitations for Israelis to join gyms, restrict TV ads for high-calorie foods and seeks mandatory caloric-content labeling for all ready-to-eat foods.

Israel socio-economic cabinet on Monday unanimously approved an interministerial program to promote a healthy lifestyle in Israel, focused on preventing and reducing obesity.
The proposal is expected to come into effect within two weeks….
