Israel prepares for Passover holiday

In Mevasseret Zion, new Jewish immigrants from Ethiopia attended a demonstration of the seder at an absorption center ahead of the holiday. This year will be the first seder the immigrants will be celebrating in Israel.

Israel began preparing this week for the Passover holiday, which begins on the evening of April 18, the night of the Passover seder.
Passover commemorates the flight of Jews from ancient Egypt as described in Exodus. As the story goes, they did not have time to prepare leavened bread before leaving for the Promised Land….
