Israeli banks won't lend to us, say Arab developers at groundbreaking conference

The Arab sector grows by about 10,000 households a year – but only 6,000 homes get added.

The city of Nazareth made history on Wednesday, hosting the first real-estate conference to focus on the Israeli Arab community and its unique problems in the Israeli real estate sphere.
The conference, sponsored by the Israeli Building Center and the Arabic-language magazine Malqom ("Your Money" ), was conducted mostly in Arabic, with simultaneous translation into Hebrew. But the attendants – engineers and builders, bankers and developers, for the most part didn't need the earphones….
