Israeli government won't meet Haredi job targets

Report says government's drive to bring ultra-Orthodox Jews into Israel's workforce and institutions of higher education has been, at best, a partial success.

The government bodies responsible for bringing Israel's Haredim into the workforce seem to be failing in their mission. The government has repeatedly vowed to raise the Haredi labor force participation rate to 63% by the year 2020, compared with 2008 rates of just 40% for men and 57% for women. But so far, the rate has edged up only slightly, to 45% for men, according to Bank of Israel estimates….
