Labor Ministry to tackle its own gender pay gaps first

Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Shalom Simhon establishes a working group to examine wage gaps between the sexes and to formulate a detailed operational plan for advancing gender equality within the ministry.

The Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry wants to advance the cause of equal pay for men and women – but it first has to get its own house in order. Women employed by the ministry earn some 30% less on average than their male counterparts.
On Thursday, Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Shalom Simhon decided to establish a working group to examine wage gaps between the sexes in his own ministry, and the group is to formulate a detailed operational plan for advancing gender equality within the ministry….
