New home sales rose 19% in the first half

In the first six months of the year, 10,214 new homes were sold, compared with 8,596 in the second six months of last year.

The number of new homes sold in the first half of the year showed a sharp rise from the second half of 2011, even though the pace remains below the record level of 2010, according to figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics released on Tuesday….
