September 30 was Michael Oren’s last day in office as Israel’s ambassador to Washington. Unlike most people on their last day on the job, however, Oren didn’t have the luxury of leisurely packing up his belongings, bidding a bittersweet farewell to his co-workers, and walking out the door and into the sunset.
