Shalit activists block vehicle transferring aid funds to Gaza

Activists for captured IDF soldier Gilad Shalit convince driver of aid vehicle to drive back to Jerusalem; Shalit family ask U.S. Congress to stop fund transfers to Gaza until Shalit is released.

Dozens of activists for the release of abducted Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit blocked the road leading to the border crossing with Gaza on Monday, forcing a courier service transferring monetary aid to the Strip to turn around.
For more than 45 minutes, the activists stood in the road leading from Jerusalem to the Erez Crossing on the border with Gaza, until Israel police arrived and tried to disperse the crowds. The activists only agreed to leave after they came to an agreement with the drivers of the vehicle transferring the aid, who returned to Jerusalem….
