A new initiative in Tel Aviv would make it much easier for street performers to earn a living.
Street music is a way of life – and a primary source of income – for Tamar Capsouto. She has performed across the country for the past three years. Her stage is the public domain, whether it is a street, a promenade or a square.
On her way to a performance, she leaves her Jaffa apartment and revs up her motorcycle. On her person, she carries a guitar, an amplifying system, a harmonica, and a hat which she uses to collect her salary….
