South Tel Aviv library in heart of migrant neighborhood in danger of closing

The public library at Levinsky Park, which serves south Tel Aviv's foreign worker community, needs urgent funding to avoid closure.

Tel Aviv's Levinsky Park public library in Neve Shaanan, which serves foreigners and locals in the city's southern neighborhoods, is in danger of closing. On January 1, there will not be any more books there.
Artim, an interdisciplinary non-profit group promoting volunteer art, education and community projects, which was behind the establishment of the library two years ago, announced this week that the closure is because it has no budget to cover the the library's running costs….
