In recent years south Tel Aviv has been seen as an area of crime, violence, prostitution, gambling and mostly the place where foreign workers and refugees live. The residents of south Tel Aviv have repeatedly protested against the increase in the number of foreigners in their neighborhoods, compared to the central and northern parts of the city.
The residents have often blamed the Tel Aviv-Jaffa municipality of neglecting the southern neighborhoods. Now, the municipality is embarking on an effort to counter the negative phenomena which stem from the increase in the foreign population in the southern neighborhoods….
