Telecom analysts keep getting a wrong number

TheMarker tracked 12-month targets for local telecom shares, and found they missed the mark – despite identifying the risks.

On June 9, 2010 TheMarker reported on anticipated upheavals in Israel's telecommunications sector. The Communications Ministry was forcing the country's mobile operators to slash network interconnection fees by 70%, which could affect not only them but landline companies too. "It will be a test period for analysts at the investment houses, who had been accustomed to slack regulation by the Communications Ministry and must now evaluate the new risk environment," TheMarker wrote.
