The story of the Tollman family, known for introducing Israel to luxury furniture and housewares; less known is that their son Gaby was born with Pierre Robin Syndrome and has overcome the odds, now married and a father of two.
They prefer to be interviewed separately. "Geoff paints an optimistic picture of how we coped," Tamara says, as she prepares a cup of coffee. Afterward, with a brush of the hand, she adds, "Men and women are different," and takes out a slim cigarette.
In their close circle, they never hid Gaby. Three self-portraits of him are on display in the house, powerfully expressive and demonstrating a high level of skill. But now, for the first time, they are ready to be identified not only as the couple that introduced Israel to luxury design but also as a mother and father forced to cope with one of the most difficult challenges that can befall parents….
