UN human rights chief Pillay tours Sderot and Gaza

In her first visit since taking office in 2008, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights toured the W. Bank, was shown rockets fired from Gaza.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay visited Sderot and Gaza on Thursday, as part of her week-long visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories. It was her first visit to this area since taking office in September 2008.
Sderot Mayor David Buskila gave Pillay a flower made from fragments of Palestinian rockets that had landed in his city. It symbolized his wish that the children of Sderot, who have been under rocket attack for almost a decade, would be able to grow up in the future without the fear of rocket attacks, he said….
