US, Sweden to push UN human rights body to act on Iran

US ambassador says Washington to support Swedish effort to have UN rights council appoint special investigator into violations in Tehran.

GENEVA – The United States will strongly support a Swedish effort to have the UN Human Rights Council appoint a special investigator into rights violations in Iran, US ambassador Eileen Donahoe said on Friday.
