Who decides who gets cheap housing in Israel?

Social protests that have spread throughout Israel may finally bear fruit with concrete policy changes in reduced-price housing.

The Justice Ministry and the team for socioeconomic change – headed by Prof. Manuel Trajtenberg – will determine the eligibility criteria for reduced-price housing, the Israel Lands Council decided Wednesday.
The council, which sets policy for the Israel Lands Administration, voted to approve a cabinet resolution in favor of selling land designated for reduced-price residential construction at a discount. The council also approved the recommendation by Housing and Construction Minister Ariel Atias to let the Justice Ministry and Trajtenberg's team set eligibility conditions for reduced-price housing….
